BDO is the only top-five accounting network with its own store for proprietary software. But it was losing out on sales due to abandoned purchases on its e-commerce platform. And this was undermining one of its major points of difference in the market. It was time to level up to a B2C-standard shopping experience — clearer, smoother, and more secure.

Simplifying the sales journey

When it comes to UX design, small changes have a big impact. The key is knowing precisely what to change. With clear insights from our strategists and UX designers, we made the site easier to navigate, eliminated unnecessary steps, and introduced an intuitive purchasing flow with a permanently visible basket. With these friction-free fundamentals in place, we could upgrade the interface with BDO’s new branding to create an even better experience.

Strengthening technical foundations

Our challenge was to optimise performance on every level. Comprehensive technical improvements unlocked faster load times and optimised it for search. Plus we used a controlled migration process to minimise disruption to the live store and ran rigorous tests to ensure secure handling of customer data. Since the relaunch, BDO has seen organic search traffic rise by 136% year-on-year, and digital sales rise by over 150%, delivering a clear return on the technical investment.
